Concept

Working from home, although is not a new phenomenon, becomes more common nowadays. More than 4 million people work from home in the UK. This project focuses on the overwork that is observed, as more than 70% of people believe that they work more hours when working from home.

Overwork is an invisible threat for family life and personal welfare. What if this threat was more apparent?

One of the reasons for that , beyond the physical proximity of the work, is the lack of the environmental cues such as the noise of the co-workers when it is a break or that that everybody leaves.

The project tries to provide a framework upon which the person can re-establish his personal boundaries between work and family time. At the same time it aims to open a discussion and criticise the phenomenon of overworking.

The way to achieve the first will be by providing the necessary stimuli to worker through this artificial atmosphere that will get more intense over time. From visual to sound and finally to tactile cues.
